On August 31, 2023, President Peter Salovey announced that he decided to make this his final year as Yale’s twenty-third president and return to the Yale faculty full time at the end of the 2023-2024 academic year. The board of trustees has launched the search for President Salovey’s successor.

The search committee benefits greatly from a robust and inclusive process. Members of the committee are actively seeking input from the Yale community, and they are engaging with students, faculty, staff, and alumni.
