The Yale University Women's Organization (YUWO) was founded in 1965 "to provide an opportunity for women of the Yale community to meet and pursue common intellectual and social interests." For more information about the history of the organization, click here.
The organization sponsors various activity groups that focus on specific interests of the members. YUWO also sponsors three popular lecture series: the monthly Lunch and Learn programs, and the Fall and Spring Study Groups. YUWO also sponsors several bus trips during the year to destinations of interest throughout the region.
Our calendar also includes three special events the annual Wine & Cheese Reception, which is held in September at the President's House, the holiday Gala in December, and the annual luncheon in May at the New Haven Country Club.
For 30+ years, YUWO has sponsored Scholarships for Continuing Education, a program designed to provide financial assistance to women of the Yale community whose formal education has been interrupted or delayed and who wish to resume their studies.
