RATES
The volume of hotel bookings on both Orbitz.com and Orbitz for Business allows a competitive advantage in Orbitz’s ability to negotiate very special rates at a broad range of hotels. Orbitz Low Price Guarantee Rates are specially discounted rates, with some restrictions which are available at a wide variety of hotel properties including luxury, mid-range and budget choices.
In those cities where Yale has significant hotel spend, Yale’s proprietary discounted hotel rates will usually be the best value. In destinations that Yale travelers visit less frequently, Orbitz Low Price Guarantee rates are typically lower than other available rates including corporate or standard rates. In some instances, Orbitz Low Price Guarantee rates include special perquisites such as complimentary internet access, upgraded room type, or other amenities. These special offers are explained fully in the hotel rate type description screen.
PAYMENT AND CANCELLATIONS
When the traveler or travel arranger purchases an Orbitz Low Price Guarantee hotel reservation, the designated credit card is charged immediately for the full cost of the entire stay including applicable taxes and service charges. If, for example, the traveler books a hotel for 3 nights at the rate of $100 per night plus 10% tax, the designated credit card will be charged $330.00. The emailed confirmation of the Orbitz Low Price Guarantee booking is the hotel receipt and should be used for expense reimbursement. At check-in, the traveler presents his/her credit card for incidentals and at check-out, the folio will reflect solely any incidental charges and not any charges for room or tax.
Immediately upon purchase Orbitz Low Price Guarantee hotel reservations carry cancellation penalties ranging from $25 to full forfeiture of the entire prepaid amount. Orbitz Low Price Guarantee reservations are considered a “package”, and any change to the reservation would require canceling and rebooking the hotel, based upon current availability. Please be sure that you read, understand, and agree to the specific conditions and penalties for cancellation prior to purchasing an Orbitz Low Price Guarantee reservation. Because of the cancellation penalties, we suggest that you purchase Orbitz Low Price Guarantee hotel reservations close to departure and/or solely in those instances when your trip is unlikely to change or to be cancelled.
FREQUENT GUEST AND LOYALTY PROGRAM REWARDS
It is at the discretion of each individual hotel whether to offer “Frequent Guest” points on Orbitz Low Price Guarantee bookings. As this information is subject to change, it is not listed on the Orbitz Website.
