Traveler’s Emergency Contact Information

To Members of the Yale Community,

Please register your travel plans on the Yale Emergency Contact website so we can contact you to provide help in the event of a major emergency. For example, when hostilities broke out in Beirut in 2006, this information was critical to our efforts to locate students and faculty and assist with their evacuation.

If you are traveling abroad now or in the future, you can find the emergency travel and contact form at http://world.yale.edu/travelform/. The information you provide will be kept confidential and used only by the Office of the Secretary in the event of an emergency. You may include information on as many cities as you will be visiting. And you may update or change your information later as your plans change. The site is password protected, you will need to log in using your NetID.

I also want to remind you that Yale has a contract with MEDEX to provide 24/7 travel assistance coverage anytime Yale students, faculty, or staff are traveling. In addition to helping with medical emergencies abroad, they provide other services such as help when you lose your wallet or travel documents. If you do not have a MEDEX card in your wallet, you can print one out at www.yale.edu/riskmanagement/programs/medex. Other travel resources are available on the Yale and the World website http://world.yale.edu/abroad/travel_resources.html
