News from the 2008-2009 Season
Saturday, May 2, 2009: Reflections of a Great Year
The last concert of the season was again a success. Dwight Hall was packed with newcomers and seasoned audience members, family and friends, all united for the love of music. The choristers, of course, were sad to see the season come to a close under the direction of YRC director Mark Bailey and YRC president Stephen Bruce.
Nevertheless, as they say in the business, life marches on. Under this philosophy, the chorus continues to plan for the next season (starting in September). You can be a part of that new season. If you want to schedule a concert with the Yale Russian Chorus, or if you are interested in singing in the YRC next year, please send an e-mail to our new president Adam
for more information. For our auditions, no prepared piece is needed, and no knowledge of Russian is required.
Best wishes to everyone and have a great summer!

Sunday, Mar. 22, 2009: Spring Tour Conclusion
We had recently returned to New Haven from our spring tour to Montreal/Quebec area. We had amazing concerts and great times during our week-long tour, in an area of the world offering a continental feel without the jetlag. Special thanks go out especially to our gracious homestay hosts (Paul and Sandy Gauthier), our concert venue hosts, and our hard-working volunteer publicist Maria. Finally, special thanks goes out to Stephen Bruce-- the YRC's own designated francophone spokesperson-- as well as Brian Milakovsky and Adam Haliburton, whose last minute phone calls and organizing made much of this trip possible. We would also like to thank the Yale Russian Chorus and its alumni, the sine qua non of our tours, past, present, and future.
We are now planning several concerts to end our spring season, including our on-campus spring concert. Please stay tuned for updates. Also be sure to check out the gallery, which should be soon updated with new pictures from our spring tour.
Update: Here is a link to our radio interview on tour in Montreal, currently available on Radio Canada.
