April 8, 2005: And...it's a wrap!
From a slow start this fall to a concert-packed spring semester, it's been quite a year for the Yale Russian Chorus, and Friday's vibrant concert in Dwight Chapel was a wonderful example of our growth -- both as a performing ensemble and as a group of friends. Stay tuned as updates for next year's concert season begin to arise, and if you're interested in auditioning for the chorus, please don't hesitate to contact us!
April 1, 2005: A beautiful Mosaic of Slavic Music
At the Theater of the Performing Arts in Hartford, Ukrainian vocal ensemble Yevshan, Yale's own Slavic Chorus, and the Russian Chorus joined together for a marathon concert of Slavic music in all its possible permutations. March 14, 2005: The Yale Russian Chorus...Touring Again!
After a sun- and song-filled week in El Paso, Texas, the Chorus has returned to the Northeast with a new energy and drive. Highlights of the week included visits to Palomas, Mexico, and White Sands National Monument, New Mexico, and concerts at St. George's Antiochian Orthodox Church, St. Clement's Episcopal School, and Ysleta Independent School District. Our sincerest gratitude goes out to everyone who made this tour possible: Billye and Ashley Lucas, who brought us to El Paso in the first place; Nancy and Rick Loiselle, David and Dianne Bernard, Douglas and Sally Borrett, Beth Jacobes, and Stan and Angela Munro for their incredible hospitality; Father Benjamin Henderson and family, Ana Gonzalez, and the administration and students of St. Clement's and the Ysleta Fine Arts Department for giving us a fantastic concert schedule; YRC alums Robert Fisher and Jordan Prutkin, and Wesleyan alum Wes Pederson, for taking the places of current members who couldn't make it and helping to fill out the group -- and of course, to everyone else who helped bring this unforgettable tour to life.
