Sunday February 25, 2007, 4 p.m.

Concert with Sunday Afternoons Live, a series of chamber music, vocal, piano and jazz concerts held in the auditorium of the First Congregational Church of Greenwich. Hot chocolate, tea and cookies are served from 3:30 PM and the performance will begin at 4:00. There is no admission charge, but a $10 donation is suggested.

We will be singing a selection of Russian music in conjunction with the exhibition, Britannia & Muscovy: English Silver at the Court of the Tsars.

The YRC's first official concert of the semester, at Saints Peter and Paul's Church in Meriden, CT. Tickets will be available at the door for $12; a reception will follow the concert.

Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Newburyport, MA, is generously hosting the Yale Russian Chorus at the Belleville Meeting House and offering a Greek pastry reception afterwards.

This concert will feature the YRC, Yale Slavic Chorus, Elm City Girl's Choir, and United Girl's Choir as a fundraiser for the Connecticut Bridge of Hope program, a foundation which brings older Russian orphans to the USA for the summer.

YRC Artistic Director Mark Bailey will present his very first Fellow's Talk at Davenport College.

A private concert at the Quinnipiack Club's Russian New Year reception.

 

FALL 2005

November 5, 2005: Dwight Chapel, 8:00 PM

Join us for our fall concert in Dwight Chapel on Old Campus, open to the public (admission $10 adults and $5 students.) The proceeds will help fund our spring concert tour to the Pacific Northwest, so bring a friend (or two!)

October 15, 2005: Houghton Chapel, Wellesley College, MA, 8:00 PM

Wellesley College generously hosts the YRC for a long-awaited fall concert, which will be open and free to the public.

September 10, 2005: Berkeley College, 4:00 PM

The Berkeley College Music Festival, featuring the Yale Russian Chorus at 4 PM and other performers throughout the day.

September 3, 2005: Dwight Chapel, time to be determined

The Yale Russian Chorus, Magevet, the Yale Women's Slavic Chorus, and Tangled Up In Blue join forces to introduce the class of '09 to Yale's most eclectic choral ensembles.

 

SPRING 2005

April 8, 2005: Dwight Chapel, 8:00 PM

The Yale Russian Chorus will close out the 2004-2005 school year with a concert here on the Yale campus in New Haven: 8 pm in Dwight Chapel on Old Campus. All are welcome, and we hope to see you there!

April 1, 2005: Theater of the Performing Arts, 7:30 PM

Yevshan, Hartford-based Ukrainian choral ensemble, the Yale Women's Slavic Chorus, and the Yale Russian Chorus will join forces in Hartford and present a variety of Slavic music, highlighting each group's individual talents and bringing all three together in their shared love for Slavic song. The concert will be held at the Theater of Performing Arts, 359 Washington St.

March 5 to March 12, 2005: El Paso, TX and Juarez, Mexico

The Southwest will get a taste of Russian music during the YRC's spring break tour to El Paso and Juarez!

February 20, 2005: Holy Trinity Orthodox Cathedral, 2:00 PM

Presenting a program of sacred music, the Chorus will perform at Boston's Holy Trinity Orthodox Cathedral, 165 Park Drive, corner of Kilmarnock St. in the Fenway. Tickets will be available at the door.

February 6, 2005: Silver Chord Bowl, 2:00 PM

The Silver Chord Bowl, an annual college a cappella showcase in Northampton, MA, will feature the Yale Russian Chorus. The concert will take place in Smith College's John M. Greene Hall; for ticket information, contact the Northampton Arts Council.

January 28, 2005: East Hartford Community Cultural Center, 7:30 PM

To start off the new year and the spring semester, the Yale Russian Chorus will perform at the East Hartford Community Cultural Center at 50 Chapman Place in East Hartford, CT. Free admission.

 

SPRING/FALL 2004

October 31, 2004: Silliman College Common Room

The Yale Russian Chorus opens the 2004-2005 concert season with its first ever Autumn Harvest concert.

April 29, 2004: Sprague Hall

The chorus sings at the "New Music, New Haven" festival, premiering a piece by one of our members.

March 27, 2004: St. Thomas More Church

The 2004 Slavic Choral festival, featuring the Yale Russian Chorus and various friends and collaborators.

February 21, 2004: Dwight Hall, 8:00 PM

A joint on-campus performance of the Yale Russian and Slavic Choruses.

January 24, 2004: Quick Center for the Performing Arts at Fairfield University, 8:00 PM

The Chorus will appear as part of a Festival of Russian Arts and Letters. For tickets, please contact the Quick Center Box Office.

 

FALL 2003

December 5, 2003: Beinecke Library, 4:00

The Yale Russian Chorus sang as the guests of the Yale Schola Cantorum at a concert celebrating the 80th birthday of Yale's Sterling Professor of History Dr. Jaroslav Pelikan.

November 15, 2003: Church of the Redeemer, 8:00 PM

The chorus performs as the guests of the New Haven Oratorio Choir in their fall concert.

November 14, 2003: Gateway Community College

Members of the Chorus sang a private performance for visiting Russian legal experts.

November 12, 2003: Quinnipiack Club

Members of the Chorus gave a private performance for Jonathan Edwards College and a visiting Russian Cosmonaut.

November 7, 2003: Union Theological Seminary at Columbia University, 8:00

This concert is sponsored by the Harriman Institute, as part of the ongoing celebration of the 300th Anniversary of St. Petersburg.

October 25, 2003: Woolsey Hall, 7:30

The long-awaited 50th-anniversary Gala of the Yale Russian Chorus, featuring the return of founding director Denis Mickiewicz to lead a massed chorus of alumni in works from throughout the chorus's history. The current members of the Yale Russian Chorus also sang sing a set of the Chorus's more recent repertoire. For further info about this momentous occasion, see our special 50th Anniversary page.
