YMSFS is looking for a new team to run the society in the fall. Contact us at: medschoolfilmsociety 'at' gmail.com!

An organizational meeting is being held this Thursday Apr 12 2007 in Hope 203 (315 Cedar St) at 8-9pm. Come join us!

Directions to Hope 203: Take the Yale shuttle down to the Medical School (333 Cedar St), enter the lobby, turn right and walk all the way down the hallway to the end. You're now in the Hope Building. Turn right and take the stairs or elevator upstairs to the 2nd floor. From the elevator, take a right and walk up 8 steps. H-203 is in front of you.

Who are we? We are the oldest independent student film society in the U.S.  More importantly, we provide some of the best latest run movies (both domestic and international, mainstream and art house/independent) for the Yale community on weekends during the semester, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Where do we operate? We hold screenings at the Medical School (walking distance from Central Campus; it’s also a regular stop on the Yale Shuttle). This semester, we are taking a break. We are starting back up next semester.

What can I do if I want to join / volunteer?

There is room for anyone who wants to get involved with the film society. Film enthusiasts, wanna-be projectionists, graphic designers, financial and administrative people, and more.

Ever wanted to learn how to run a film reel or man a projection booth? Learn how to run a 16mm film reel! Get to watch your favorite movies!

Hone your design skills by designing our semester poster and running the website!  Help design flyers, and/or post them around campus!

Get to help pick out what movies to show!

Learn how to haggle with film distributors for movie licensing rights!  Or collect cash by the fistful at the cashbox during screenings!

Help recruit new people!

Where can I get more information?

Email us at medschoolfilmsociety 'at' gmail.com. We’re planning to hold recruitment meetings sometime during the semester.

What if I just want to watch movies?

We are taking a break this semester, but we plan to start back up in the spring
