We demand from members a steadfast commitment to their mentor. Physician mentors volunteer time from their busy schedules to take students under their wing.
If you are chosen to shadow a doctor, you must:
- Make every effort to promptly establish communication with your
physician.
- Be timely and professional in attending shadowing meetings.
- Attend at least three YMPO lectures for the semester in which you
are shadowing a physician.
To minimize mismatch, physicians provide you with detailed descriptions of the experiences they offer. Once you commit to a physician, you cannot easily switch. We will only accommodate students with irreconcilable schedule conflicts.
Bottom line: choose carefully and commit fully.
