About the Model United Nations Team at Yale

MUNTY represents Yale University and the Yale International Relations Association (YIRA) at collegiate Model United Nations conferences. The team consists of 25-30 members who are selected on competitive bases to compete at national and international Model United Nations conferences.

The students on the team pursue their interests in international relations while acquiring skills of negotiation and policy making. Through independent research and training in the art of diplomacy, the members acquire knowledge and skills necessary in the modern world of global political, economic, and security concerns.

Ultimately, MUNTY serves to promote the spirit of diplomacy and the principles of the United Nations. It is on this team that Yale students are able to step out of the classroom and into the Security Council Chamber or the General Assembly and tackle the problems threatening continual progress of our society.
