Jennifer Roskies
Consultant, YIISA Jennifer Roskies is a Ph.D. candidate in Gender Studies at Bar Ilan University in Israel. Her doctoral dissertation, tentatively titled "In Their Own Voices," is a qualitative research study of Jewish women in North America and Israel who are senior members of faculty in academic institutions of their respective countries. The study examines the intersection between their multiple identities - as women, Jews, feminists and in their academic fields - shedding light on how they manage conflictedness or dissonance between them. She holds a BA from Brandeis University in Near Eastern and Judaic Studies, where her honors thesis examined American press reaction to the Eichmann trial; and earned a Masters degree from Harvard University in counseling psychology. She has also worked in development and communications capacities at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel's Ministry of Foreign Relations, the Interdisciplinary Center (IDC) Herzliya and Mandel Foundation. |
