Postdoctoral Associate Fellowships
Nomination Process
Eligibility
Individuals
who have been awarded the PhD degree within
the past three years or who are about to be
awarded the PhD degree are eligible for
nomination.
Yale
PhD graduates and individuals already in
residence at Yale are ineligible.
Disciplines
& Faculty Sponsors
-
The
postdoctoral associate award is intended for research in
biodiversity or for research that combines
biodiversity with public policy and
conservation.
-
Associates
will work in collaboration with a Yale faculty
member.
-
The sponsor
will provide space and research funds beyond
the award's contingency fund.
Award
-
Awards
will be made for a duration of two years,
without the possibility of renewal.
-
Annual compensation
is $42,000, medical benefits, and $2,000 in contingency
funds.
Nomination
Process
-
Nominations
must be made by a member of the Yale faculty
working in the environmental sciences;
direct applications will not be accepted.

Nominations,
in the form of a letter outlining the
candidate's qualifications, will be limited to
one per faculty member.

Nominees
are asked to provide the following:

A
two-page research proposal
-
An
abbreviated Curriculum Vitae with a
complete bibliography
-
One
manuscript or reprint of published work
-
Three
letters of recommendation
Deadlines

Nominations are due December 7, 2008

Nominee
application materials are due January 31,
2009

The
award will be announced April 3, 2009
-
The
fellow will begin residency at Yale
University at a time to be negotiated,
July - September, 2009.
