The travel program provides comprehensive pre-travel care including consultation, education, vaccination, travel medications, and, if necessary, referral for medical evaluation. If you are a Yale University undergraduate student, a graduate student, a Yale Health Plan members or a dependent of one of these groups you can participate in the Travel Clinic. University employees who are not health plan members are also welcome to use this service. You will pay a fee for the consultation and for select travel vaccines that are not covered by your plan.

Our services

  • Individual, family or small group appointments are available for 4 or fewer individuals going to the same destination countries
  • Prescription Medications for the prevention of malaria and influenza and for the treatment of traveler's diarrhea
  • A pre-travel education plan and recommendations for pre-travel preparation
  • Special educational sessions for those that may be at risk of exposure to blood and blood borne pathogens.
  • Group education for travelers going to the same destination
  • Group leader education

Appointments

We recommend that you call to make your appointment with the travel clinic 6-8 weeks before your trip. Some vaccinations are given in a series and you may need this much time.
