YHHAP Board members are researching the possibility of reinstating Project Homeless Connect sites in the New Haven area. Project Homeless Connect events are held on a regular basis in cities around the country, such as Raleigh-Durham, NC; Nashville, TN; and Danbury, CT. (Read about 2010's Danbury event here.) These are one-day, client-centered events which offer everything from social and health care services to hair cuts and clothing, all under one roof. Project Homeless Connect events also occurred in the New Haven region in 2007 and 2008. YHHAP members are working to evaluate the feasibility of returning PHC to New Haven by compiling information on the 2007 and 2008 events and assessing what services would be most needed at a 2011 PHC.
