Charlotte Morse, ES '10

Major: Political Science
Riding Experience: Brought both of her own horses up to the international grand prix level, and represents Hong Kong in international competitions.

Favorite YET moment: "Freshman year, Jennie, Joker and I were leaning on a fence at a show, and the rail we were leaning against collapsed, sending us all head-first into the ring."

Joker Arroyo, BK '10

Riding Experience: Member of the Philippine National Team, 2005 Southeast Asian Games Team Gold medalist, record holder in puissance, South East Asian World Cup participant

Favorite YET moment: "Every single tim I teach Endre!"
Favorite Thing About YET: "Aside from the happiness that accompanies being able to ride, the people."

Lauren Noble, PC '11

Major: History
Riding Experience: Has ridden since age 8. Now competes in jumpers with her three horses at home: Fringe, Clarence, and Mia.
Other Activities: Yale Political Union, Conservative Party, Women's Leadership Initiative
Favorite YET moment: "The time Jennie and Bongi got a parking space at a show by posting a sign saying 'Reserved for Kevin Bacon' on a jump standard! I have a picture of it somewhere..."

Sibongile Sithe, MC '11

Major: English
Riding Experience: Has been riding since she was nine. Threw up at her first show at age twelve, but eventually made a recovery and began showing again when she got to college and joined YET.
Other Activities: Yale Daily News and an up-and-coming writer's workshop.
Favorite YET moment: "Keeping Jennie awake on our way to shows--it's always an adventure."

Jennie Nevin, ES ' 10

Major: Religious Studies
Riding Experience: In 17 years of riding, has qualified for the Medal/Maclay National Finals twice and ribboned at Maclay Zone 2 Regionals, New England Finals, and Vermont/Culpepper/Ocala.
Other Activities: Proof of the Pudding, Asempa, St. Thomas Moore Church Choir, Model UN, New Haven Reads
Fun Fact: "My entire family is banned from the country of Albania. (It's a long story involving the communist party.)"

Abigail Owen-Pontez, SM '12

Major: Political Science, International Studies
Riding Experience: 5 years of riding hunter/jumpter competitively and 2 years of playing polo.
Other Activities: Global 21, Kappa Alpha Theta, New Journal, Yale Aviation Club, volunteer at Yale-New Haven Hospital and a local school
Favorite YET Moment: "Waking up at 4:30 am Sunday morning, putting on all my riding gear and realizing there was no show that day!"

 

Deniz Yildiz, SY '11

Major: Political Science, International Studies
Riding Experience: Has ridden western since age 9, and began English when she joined YET.
Other Activities: Yale Students for Special Olympics, Balanced Body Society
Favorite YET Moment: "When I proved to everyone that I wasn't lying when I said I can't compete because I can't wake up in the morning by showing up three hours late to the only horse show I was asked to go to all fall."

Monique Wolfe, TD '12

Major: Chemistry
Riding Experience: Started riding western at age eight and switched to English at age nine. Has ridden hunter/jumper for five years and dressage for two years.
Other Activities: Interpreting at HAVEN Free Clinic
Favorite YET Moment: "Cheering for Endre so loudly at my first show that the judge started laughing."
Favorite Thing About YET: "The team. Everyone is so fun to be around."
