Amanda Gerdts
Education: Graduate of Salve Regina University where she rode in the IHSA, Zone 1 Region 1 in the Open Division. Presently a graduate student at Long Island University for her Master's in Childhood Education in May 2009.
Equestrian Experience: Rides in the Alumni Division of Zone 2 Region 4, and was the high point alumni rider for 2 years in a row. She presently teaches lessons at B.J. Farms in Jamesport, NY and Hampshire Farm on Shelter Island, NY.
Favorite YET Moment: "One of my most memorable YET experiences was preparing Endre for his first IHSA walk-trot class. The entire team assisted in creating a dashing equestrian. We borrowed everything he wore and we even resorted to taping him into a pair of very tight tall boots. He was thrilled not to place last in his class on his extremely tiny equine."

Trainers: Susan Horn and Jaime MacLeod
Barn: River's Edge Farm, Bethany, CT
Coaching Career Highlight: Winning the Region Championship in 2005 and prepping a team to compete at Zones where we were definitely very respectable and competitive
Favorite YET moment: "Too many to name... When I came to Yale, I was absolutely dead set on riding/doing the whole hunter/jumper thing and before I knew it, I was running the team... The people are amazing, it's so wonderful to be able to compete as a team in a sport that we usually consider an individual sport...From falling off ponies in lessons to gag gifts and gravity parties to ridiculous conversations in long car rides to accompanying riders to Nationals...what a cool organization we've got!" |
