Mission Statement
At its core, Yeast at Yale strives to fulfill the following goals:
1. To provide a monthly forum for the presentation of new research on any aspect of biology, using yeast (any yeast) as a model system.
2. To provide an opportunity for graduate students, and postdocs, to present their research to an audience of their peers.
3. To allow up-and-coming yeast researchers a chance to hone their presentation skills as speakers, and their critical thinking/questioning skills as audience members.
4. To present research at all stages of completion, but especially research that is in progress and might not yet be near publication-readiness.
5. To foster an environment that combines the scientific rigor of data presentation with the collegial aspect of an informal discussion.
6. To give and receive constructive feedback on the work presented.
