ABOUT
YDKA
YDKA (Yale
Divinity Korean Association) consists of the Korean and Korean-American
students in three Master’s programs at Yale University Divinity School – Master
of Divinity, Master of Art in Religion and Master of Sacred Theology. We have
about 45 members including not only 27 students but also 18 their family
members within YDKA. With this sizable body of community, YDKA purposes to
deepen our bond of love and fellowship with frequent events and meetings
every
school year. We also meet several times a year to discuss theological issues,
especially related to our nation that identifies approximately 25 percent of
its population as Christians including Catholic and Protestants.
As one of
the major student bodies and the largest international group at Yale Divinity
School, YDKA also aims to present and introduce the Korean culture to the
school in order to promote the diversity of our community at YDS through
several significant yearly events such as Choo Suk Party – the Korean
traditional thanksgiving party – and New Year’s Celebration. In addition to
these, the main events of YDKA include welcoming party for incoming students,
bowling tourna -ment and pizza party with Black Seminarians, Korean theological
forums, and farewell party for
graduating members.
