FAREED ZAKARIA TO SPEAK AT YALE UNIVERSITY
Fareed Zakaria, author, columnist, and Newsweek International Editor to continue lecture series by the Yale College Students for Democracy
NEW HAVEN, CT, March 15, 2004 – Author, Columnist and Newsweek International editor Fareed Zakaria will be speaking in Room 114 of Yale University's Sheffield, Sterling, Strathcona Hall, 1 Prospect Street, March 25, 2004 at 6:00 pm as part of a continuing series of lectures by the Yale College Students for Democracy (YCSD).
“YCSD is proud to welcome Fareed Zakaria back to Yale,” said YCSD President Zachary Safir. “We are excited to expose the Yale community to his insightful clarification of ‘democracy’ and America’s role in developing liberal democratic institutions around the world.”
Zakaria, a Yale College graduate, is the former managing editor of Foreign Affairs, the Editor of Newsweek International, a columnist for Newsweek, and a news analyst for ABC News. He is the author of three books, including The Future of Freedom: Illiberal Democracy at Home and Abroad.
YCSD invites all members of the media to attend this event; Mr. Zakaria will be available for press opportunities following his speech.
