JAMES WOOLSEY TO SPEAK AT YALE UNIVERSITY

Former CIA Director to kick off Lecture Series by the Yale College Students for Democracy

NEW HAVEN, CT, February 6, 2003 – Former Director of Central Intelligence R. James Woolsey will be speaking at Yale University’s Sheffield, Sterling, Strathcona Hall (SSS 114) February 13, 2003 at 4:00 pm for the inaugural event of the Yale College Students for Democracy (YCSD). The speech is sponsored by the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies (FDD).

“Throughout his distinguished career as a public servant, Mr. Woolsey has confronted the threats facing democracy, and embodies the spirit of YCSD.” said YCSD President Matthew Louchheim. “We are honored to present his unique perspective and experience to the Yale community.”

Mr. Woolsey, a FDD Distinguished Advisor, will speak from his experiences on the causes of terrorism, the current state of international terrorism, and the importance of recognizing and confronting terrorist threats today. Mr. Woolsey will then answer audience questions.

YCSD and FDD invite all members of the media to attend this event; Mr. Woolsey will be available for press opportunities following his speech.
