Conservative Organizations
Townhall.com
Townhall.com aims to bring Internet users, conservative policy organizations,
congressional staff, and political activists together under the broad umbrella
of "conservative" thoughts, ideas, and actions. Townhall.com is a one-stop mall
of ideas in which people congregate to exchange, discuss, and disseminate the
latest news and information from the conservative movement.
The
Heritage Foundation
The Heritage Foundation is a research and educational
institute -- a think tank -- whose mission is to formulate and promote
conservative public policies based on the principles of free enterprise, limited
government, individual freedom, traditional American values, and a strong
national defense.
Young
America's Foundation
Young America's Foundation is committed to
ensuring that increasing numbers of young Americans understand and are inspired
by the ideas of individual freedom, a strong national defense, free enterprise,
and traditional values. YAF introduces thousands of American youth to these
principles by providing essential conferences, seminars, educational materials,
internships, and speakers to young people across the country.
The
Cato Institute
The Cato Institute is a non-profit public policy
research foundation. The Institute is named for Cato's Letters, a series of
libertarian pamphlets that helped lay the philosophical foundation for the
American Revolution. The Cato Institute seeks to broaden the parameters of
public policy debate to allow consideration of the traditional American
principles of limited government, individual liberty, free markets, and peace.
The
Christian Coalition
The largest and most active conservative
grassroots political organization in America, the Christian Coalition offers
people of faith a vehicle to be actively involved in shaping their government,
from the County Courthouse to the halls of Congress. Members of the Christian
Coalition of America are driven by the belief that people of faith have a right
and a responsibility to be involved in the world around them -- that involvement
includes community, social, and political action.
The
Yale Conservative Party
A philosophical debating society, the
Conservative Party is a haven for those who believe that ideas have
consequences, and that the best of what has been thought and said by man
deserves rigorous exploration. Its members are united by a devotion to the
production of principled and profound leaders; they share the belief that the
formation of such individuals can only be fostered in the crucible formed by
openly advancing one's views against the views of others. In this spirit the CP
holds events each day which are designed to investigate every facet of
philosophy and the human condition, culminating the weekly Debate Caucus, which
is structured in a traditional parliamentary format derived from the House of
Lords.
Conservative Publications
National
Review
Every other week, National Review provides readers with
a mega-dose of conservative wisdom that helps them keep their political sanity,
helping them separate the truth from the liberal media fiction. No other
magazine is better than NR at seeing through the platitudes and exposing
the machinations of liberal Democrats and their interest-group cohorts.
The
Weekly Standard
The Weekly Standard, published 48 times a
year, is one of the most widely-read publications in Washington, D.C. Considered
a leading outlet of the neoconservative movement, The Weekly Standard
contains news about people, issues, politics, trends, and current events,
including reviews of the latest in film and literature.
Light
& Truth
Yale's leading news and opinion journal, Light & Truth
has vigorously opposed the regnant campus orthodoxies that have sought to
undermine the tradition of liberal education at Yale, and upheld the ideals upon
which Yale was founded. In 1994, L&T won national prominence by
uncovering the Bass Grant Scandal, in which the Yale administration attempted to
divert monies donated for the purposes of promoting Western studies into more
"politically correct" channels.
