As the current President, I would like to welcome you to the Yale College Republicans. With over 150 members, the YCR is a strong presence on the Yale campus and is actively seized in promoting the values of the Republican Party of America. Our organization is a diverse one; students vary from neo-conservative to libertarian to traditionalist, but nevertheless, unite on a number of policy areas to increase the visibility and strength of the GOP. We are a group of students who firmly believe in the Republican cause; our convictions, however, do not preclude us from being open-minded to discussion and debate. The effective promotion of the Republican Party necessitates a constructive dialogue among both liberals and conservatives on the campus; we seek to create an environment of respect -- from this foundation we are confident that the Republican cause will flourish.

While political campaigns remain an integral part of our mission, the Yale College Republicans has extended itself to a number of different areas; from staging rallies to promote the war on terrorism, to initiating a petition campaign to "Bring Back ROTC to Yale" the YCR has become focused on increasing campus awareness of specific conservative issues. Representatives from the organization have traveled to conferences throughout American while countless others have written for local and national newspapers. Each year, the YCR seeks to bring a number of speakers to Yale; through working with Alumni, we are always looking to expand our reach and resources. Of course, the YCR is also a social group of friends: through working with each other, we forge strong bonds. There is a strong social dynamic to the organization -- we not only believe in the GOP, but are also committed to one another. It is this camaraderie which fuels the organization.
