I wanna be...

Tina Colon - Keyboard, Vocals

Tina is a sophomore, a Branfordian, a Floridian (J-ville woot woot) and a Christian who loves music and loves Driven (of course.) She started studying classical piano when she was six, then changed her mind and played for her home church in Jacksonville in 10th grade). She is a joyful alto for the Yale Gospel Choir, a performer with The Musical Cure (a group of student musicians who travel to hospitals to play for people), a leader of the Vineyard Christian Fellowship Youth Group and a student of Political Science. She is excited about what God is going to do through her here at Yale, and she really likes being loud with other people and eating apples with peanut butter. Mmmm!

Tina's Shout-Outs: To my friends and family in Jacksonville (VYM!!!) and to all the rest of my favorite people.

Stylin.

Robbie Goehrke - Clarinet

Robbie has been playing piano and clarinet since elementary school, though he has also dabbled in the alto sax, accordion, and melodica. He's come a long way since joining Driven his freshman year, making and learning from friends and mistakes. He loves being back in the studio, having recorded an album with his band before coming to college. When not playing with Driven, Robbie can be found singing with the Yale Gospel Choir or teaching 5th graders the piano. Though a recently declared psychology major, he is still holding onto thought of a double major in music. Robbie also has a passion for milkshakes, which has led him to become a manager for the Trumbull Buttery, with the dream of opening up his own restaurant one day. His absolute favorite pastime, though, is talking to Daniel in Hindi with an overdone Indian accent.

Robbie's Shout-Outs: To my family, for their endless encouragement for all of my pursuits, musical and otherwise, and to my Mom especially, for teaching me The Lion Sleeps Tonight oh so many years ago.

Rebecca James - Photographer

Rebecca (Becky) is a sophomore in high school from right here in Connecticut and has been a Christian for much of her life. She began to take an interest in photography about 3 years ago. She got her first camera 2 years ago and she brings it everywhere she goes. She enjoys looking at other photographers work for inspiration as well as artists such as Andy Warhol. The wildest things that she has done to gain better access for a shot are sticking her head and camera outside the window of the car and lying on the ground in the middle of a crowded sidewalk to get a different angle of a light-post.

Of course, she is still in her formative years as a photographer, but in the next several years she hopes continue to be involved with photography as much as possible whether it is professionally or just for a hobby. Becky hopes to someday make a big difference in the world through her pictures and that they will help people have a greater appreciation for the things that they see everyday.

Becky's Shout-Outs: Shout-out to my family who has always been there for me throughout everything... and to all my friends that are so supportive and motivating! I love you all wooot!

Kevin Olusola - Sax

A freshman from Owensboro, KY, Kevin is both a pre-med student and serious musician. Currently a cellist for the Yale Symphony Orchestra and beloved saxophonist for Driven, Kevin's music has been heard on National Public Radio, on PBS, in the Kentucky state orchestra and throughout Europe, all before graduating from high school. He is passionate about music (clearly), languages and sciences, and is involved in the Roosevelt Institution as well as the Executive Board for College Outreach, a new national non-profit devoted to increasing access to higher education for students from low economic status.

Kevin's Shout-Outs: Shout out to all my Andover and Kentucky people who helped me along the way get to where I am today. Holla at your BOOOIIII!

Leon Powell

Leon is a junior in Ezra Stiles college from Northern Virginia. He began his musical journey in fourth grade, when he began to take classical piano lessons.

In fifth grade he began playing clarinet and bass clarinet, which he continued until eighth grade. In ninth grade, he took his first step into the non-classical music world, picking up bass guitar and electric guitar.

He has since participated in four worship teams, and lead one of the worship teams for a year while in high school. He has been a bassist, pianist, guitarist, and director for the Yale Gospel Choir, and has been know to appear on djembe at Driven practices. He also organized the group known as Quintessence, a blues-jazz quartet, in which he plays electric guitar. He is currently studying abroad in Veracruz, Mexico.

Alyssa Stovall - Vocals

Alyssa hails from the great state of California (Yeah Central Coast!). She started singing when she was like 3 years old (trust me, there are actually home videos of this) and basically, hasn't ever stopped. She joined Driven (when it was still called PWA) in her freshman year at Yale, and has never looked back. She considers the members of Driven to be some of the best people on Yale's campus (and maybe even in the world) and loves that they have this opportunity to record this CD as a group of friends. She sings not only for Driven but also in the Yale Gospel Choir and ASEMPA, a newly formed African singing group. In her spare time, Alyssa enjoys horseback riding, swimming, singing, reading, TALKING and hanging out with the people she loves most in the world.

Alyssa's Shout-Outs: Shout out to my mom--who has always believed that I can do whatever I put my mind to and more-- and to all my family and friends back home who are proud of me no matter what I do.

Can you feel the love tonight?

Daniel - Team leader, vocals, guitar, synthesizer

Daniel comes from...well that's complicated! Born into a diplomat's family he has lived in Yemen, India, France, Algeria, U.A.E, Zimbabwe and Morocco. Traveling is a passion for the entire family and through that Daniel has really developed a love for multi-cultural worship. Hailing from a purely classical piano background, Daniel picked up the guitar in middle school, started helping with worship at church at the age of 12, learned the pipe organ at the age of 14 (becoming the organist for the second service), and picked up the saxophone at 15 (played alto, tenor and baritone in different bands). Although he has helped lead worship and has even organized a large-scale Christian concert in Muslim lands, it was Yale that propelled him forward to the role of worship leader. Daniel is also Assistant Director to the Yale Gospel Choir and pianist for Quintessence (a stylin' jazz quartet). Besides music Daniel has captained the squash and badminton clubs at Yale (but will play any sport except soccer socially), being outdoors rock-climbing, horseback riding, at the beach, tracking wild animals on foot, and works with youth through the church, at camps and through community service projects.

Daniel's Shout-Outs: To my parents who attended every concert and listened to every goof-up growing up and to a loving sister who has always supported most loyally everything I have done. Also to all my friends and family in all the different countries growing up who have loved me as their own.
