About Driven
About Us: Driven is the worship team for the Yale Christian Fellowship, InterVarsity's campus chapter here in New Haven, CT. We are a multi-cultural, multi-ethnic, multi-lingual group that seeks to glorify God through music, joining with every tribe and tongue to bring Him the honor He is due.
What We Do: Driven leads worship on-campus at our Large Group weekly meetings. Besides that we are blessed to have lead the large InterVarsity student conferences for the last couple years where we lead 100s of students from universities throughout the NorthEast region in worship. We've opened for the Yale Gospel Choir, taken part in the Martin Luther King Memorial Service among other gospel extravaganzas, and lead All Campus Worship. We've also reached out to the local community by leading worship at convalescent homes, schools, churches and youth groups.
Where We Are From: Formerly "PWA" (Praise, Worship & Arts), Driven was born out of the Urbana student missions conference in 2003, where we were first introduced to the concept of multi-cultural worship. Since then, Driven has grown to become both a team of musicians and a community of friends. We aim to continue bringing praise to God through music in 4 different genres: Contemporary Christian, Gospel, Spanish and African.
Where We Are Going: This year, Driven is recording its first CD, featuring music from Africa, songs from Latin America, Gospel tracks and songs in the Contemporary Christian tradition. We hope that this CD reaches many people, and we are working to produce an album that is a sincere act of worship. We pray that this will be a blessing to all who listen.
