Technology Ventures Program
Participation in the Technology Ventures Program would be beneficial to those members who are interested in pursuing careers in:
- Business development.
- Healthcare consulting.
- Intellectual property.
- University technology transfer.
- Venture capital.
1. Venture Capital Exposure
We offer two volunteer programs that offer valuable career development. Projects are designed to help participants learn the key factors required to identify good business development opportunities. Participants should come away with a solid understanding of technology licensing and entrepreneurship in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors.
A. Yale Office of Cooperative Research (OCR) Apprenticeship
Through involvement in this program, participants will collaborate with the Yale OCR in the commercialization of Yale technologies. You will be assigned a mentor in the OCR office and serve in a supportive role. If interested in applying to participate, please email a resume and brief statement of interest to our OCR Relationship Manager.
B. Connecticut Technology Council (CTC) Technology Ventures Program
Through involvement in this program, participants will collaborate local start-ups in Connecticut and perform pro bono in-house consulting in small teams with a focus on business planning for novel technologies. If interested in applying to participate, please email a resume and brief statement of interest to our CTC Relationship Manager.

Tech Impact @ Yale is the newsletter published by the Technology Ventures Program.

- A new drug target for controlling angiogenesis (since April 2006).
- A novel method for cell-specific siRNA delivery (since June 2006).
Awards:
- Yang Xie won the AUTM 2006 Eastern Meeting Scholarship to attend the Licensing Executives Society and the Association of University Technology Managers Joint Spring Meeting in Philadelphia, PA from May 10-12, 2006.

Matthew Renda, Ph.D.
Matt works at PGxHealth in Yale's Science Park and was previously YBPS Co-president and an Associate Research Scientist at the Yale Stem Cell Center.
Juha Lauren, M.D., Ph.D.,
Juha is a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Yale Department of Neurology, and currently the Director of the YBPS Consulting Program.

Kristen holds her doctorate in Pharmacology from Yale and is currently a consultant with The Chartis Group.
