YalMusT Lab
Facilities and Equipment
The YalMusT Lab is located in the Department of Music at 143 Elm Street. The facilities are open twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Currently, there are a number of computer workstations distributed among different offices and studios.
Studio B16A
Studio B16A
Studio B16A is an advanced, general-use studio with a number of G5 iMac workstations with Ozone keyboard controllers, Sony headphones, and DVD-RW drives, and one G5 tower workstation with an Ozonic keyboard controller, a HPD-15 Handsonic controller, Sony headphones, and a DVD-RW drive. Several of the workstations are also equipped with M-Audio Firewire 410 interfaces and Shure microphones. The workstations have advanced development and research software, as well as general tools including analysis, ear training, notation, digital signal processing, interactive media, synthesis, sampling, recording, editing, mixing, sequencing, graphics, and video software.

Studio B16B is an intermediate, general-use studio with a number G4 iMac workstations with Midiman keyboard controllers, Sony headphones, and DVD-RW drives. Each workstation has a suite of general tools for analysis, ear training, notation, digital signal processing, interactive media, synthesis, sampling, recording, editing, mixing, sequencing, graphics, and video.

Studio B11
Studio B11 is an advanced interactive media and editing studio comprised of a single G5 tower workstation with an Ozonic keyboard controller and a DVD-RW drive. The interactive tools include Max/MSP/Jitter and a set of networkable hardware components. Mastering and post-production software, a Firewire 410 interface, Shure microphones, and an M-Audio LX 5.1 surround-sound speaker system complete the studio.
Studios B8 and B10
Studios B8 and B10 are staff development and research offices with two G4 iMac workstations and one G5 iMac workstation, each with an Ozone MIDI controller and DVD-RW drives. The workstations have general-use software, as well as more advanced development and research tools.
Alcove #1
Alcoves #1 and #2
Alcove #1 has a networked Dell PC workstation running Microsoft Windows XP with the standard set of PC network and word processing software. In addition, Alcove #1 contains an additional iMac workstation with scanning software and an Epson scanner for images and texts. Alcove #2 contains a networked 5100 Hp printer capable of printing up to size 11" x 17" pages.
Two Epson scanners, two mobile G4 laptops, one mobile Dell Latitude laptop, microphones, a portable CD-R recorder, and a Sony portable projector are also available for use by members of the YalMusT Lab community.
