The YalMusT Labs are located within the Department of
Music at 469 College Street. The facilities are open twenty-four hours
a day, seven days a week. Currently, there are two labs located on the fourth floor: room 405 houses the Notation Lab; rooms 401/402 house the advanced lab.
401/402: YalMusT Advanced Lab is an advanced lab environment
with a number of Intel and Power PC iMac workstations with M-Audio Axiom 61 keyboard controllers,
and Sony headphones. The workstations have advanced development and research
software, as well as the general software tools including analysis,
ear training, notation, digital signal processing, interactive,
synthesis, sampling, recording, editing, mixing, sequencing, graphics
and video software. Room 402 is also equipped with an Arena 5.1 surround sound system, a SmartBoard with a Quad-core Mac Pro, and 5-channel auxiliary input capability. Access is restricted.
405: YalMusT Notation Lab is a general-use studio
with a number of Intel iMac workstations with M-Audio keyboard controllers,
and Sony headphones. Each workstation has a suite
of general software tools for analysis, ear training, notation,
digital signal processing, interactive, synthesis, sampling, recording,
editing, mixing, sequencing, graphics and video software. Room 405 is also equipped with an Arena 5.1 surround sound system, a SmartBoard with a Quad-core Mac Pro, and 5-channel auxiliary input capability. Accessible to all members of the Yale community.
403: YalMusT Advanced Studio is currently slated to open late in 2009. It will feature a quad-core Mac Pro, a Tascam 1884 Firewire mixer/controller, a shure SM57 dynamic microphone, a Rode NT2-A multi-polar pattern Cardioid microphone, and audio tie-ins for recording audio from B01. Access is restricted.
