Customizing your YaleInfo pages and layouts

Note that you must login to the YaleInfo portal to change any of your personal settings. If you haven't already done so, use the gold "Sign in with CAS" button to login to the portal.

There are a few different ways to change your personal YaleInfo layout:

Adding a new YaleInfo page

Click the "Add a Tab" link just to the right of the page tabs to add a new YaleInfo page:

Removing a YaleInfo page

When you move your cursor over the page tabs in YaleInfo you'll see a drop-down menu of options. In the current page tab you'll see menu choices that allow you move the tab left or right, or to delete the tab. If you do not see the "Delete tab" option on the menu, it means that the page cannot be removed from YaleInfo.

Changing the number of columns on a page, or naming a tab

You can access the controls for changing you page layout either from the drop-down menu of the current page tab, or by clicking the "Page Layout" link at the top right of every YaleInfo page:

This (below) is the dialog box you will see after selecting "Page Layout." Be sure to click the "Update" button to confirm your new settings:

The Portlet Control Buttons

Use the portlet header buttons minimize, maximize, or a delete a portlet from your pages. To add more portlets, or if your delete a portlet and later change your mind, you can easily add or restore portlets back onto your page using the “More content” options on the “Options” pull-down menu at the right side of the YaleInfo header.

When you are not logged in, you will only see only a few portlet control buttons:

  • The Focus button expands the portlet content to full page size
  • The Minimize button hides portlet content
  • The Maximize button shows portlet content that has been hidden
  • The Detach button displays a portlet in a separate browser window

Once you login, you'll see additional portlet control buttons:

  • The REMOVE button permanently removes the selected portlet from your layout.
  • To add the portlet back to your layout, go to the "Options" menu at the right of header and use the “More content” option
  • Some portlets have a Help button, which provides information about using the portlet
  • Some portlets have an Edit button, which allows you to adjust portlet content, such as the number of news items in an RSS news feed
