Credit/D/Fail Option
Rules for the Credit/D/Fail option
- Only four courses taken Credit/D/Fail may count toward the degree.
- In a term, a student may take no more than two courses Credit/D/Fail, and must take at least two courses for a letter grade.
- Many departments do not allow courses taken Credit/D/Fail to count toward the major.
- Courses taken at other universities or abroad do not count toward the four-course limit on Credit/D/Fail courses even though they may appear on the transcript with a grade of CR. Such courses may count toward the 36-course-credit requirement for graduation.
