Making Payments

There are several options for making payments, including electronic payment, check, and wire transfer. Yale does not accept credit card payments. Be sure to include the student's name and Yale account number with all payments.

Yale University eBill-ePay, the University's system for electronic billing and payment, is the preferred means for payment of bills. Electronic payments are easy and convenient—no checks to write, no stamps, no envelopes, and no hassle. Payments are immediately posted to your account. There is no charge to use this service. Your bank information is password protected and secure, and you can print a confirmation receipt for each transaction. You can make payments 365 days a year, 24 hours a day (except when the system is undergoing upgrade, maintenance, or repair). You can make your payment up to
4 p.m. Eastern Time on the due date to avoid late fees. You have control over access to your account, and you can authorize up to three people besides yourself to make payments electronically from their computers to your account.

Use of your own bank payment service is not authorized by the University because it has no direct link to your Yale account. Because payments made through such services arrive without proper account identification, they require manual processing. The delayed crediting to your account can result in late fees.

For those who choose to pay by check, a remittance advice with mailing instructions is available on the eBill-ePay Web site. All bills must be paid in U.S. currency. Checks should be payable in U.S. dollars drawn on a U.S. bank. Our bank automatically processes all checks upon arrival. Please do not remit post-dated checks, as they cannot be held.

Please direct all questions about fees and payments to Student Financial Services, Yale University, 246 Church Street, P.O. Box 208232, New Haven, CT 06520-8232. You may also contact the office by telephone at 203 432-2700, by fax at 203 432-7557, or by e-mail at sfs@yale.edu.
