Shipment of Personal Effects
We recommend that you bring with you your most essential items. Items that you cannot bring with you may be shipped by U.S. mail, United Parcel Service (UPS), or motor freight carrier. There is no storage space on campus, so please plan accordingly.
Shipments before the Beginning of the Fall Term
Parcel shipments made via UPS to coincide with your arrival at Yale will be available for pickup from UPS trucks parked on College Street adjacent to the Old Campus on Saturday, August 30, and daily from Tuesday, September 2, through Friday, September 5 (no pickups will be available on Friday, August 29, or on Monday, September 1). A list of names of students with packages for pickup will be available daily in the master's office of your residential college. In the unlikely event that the pickup schedule is changed, a notice will be posted in the master's office of your college. Consult with your local UPS office or call 800 742-5877 for requirements on the timing of your shipment and proper methods of packaging. It is to your benefit to send all of your packages at the same time for shipment integrity and efficient delivery. Do not ship before Thursday, August 14.
