International Study
While you are thinking about the rest of your Yale experience, you might also want to begin thinking about international study. Yale College believes that academic study of the international world and firsthand experience of foreign cultures are crucial training for citizens of the global future. You can go abroad for a term or for an entire academic year during your Yale experience, and with proper planning you can do so and still graduate with your class. Students on financial aid continue to receive need-based aid while abroad for one or two terms in approved courses or programs. You can also go abroad during the summer through Yale Summer Session courses or Yale- |

At Yale you will have the resources of the Office of International Education and Fellowship Programs, Undergraduate Career Services, and Yale Summer Session to help you in your planning. Intermediate language ability for the country in which you wish to study, travel, or work will help your plans, so consider that point early. The Yale Grants & Fellowships database brings together in a comprehensive, searchable resource those grants and fellowships funded or administered by Yale. You might take a look at it this summer and begin to imagine yourself abroad in Europe, Asia, Africa, China, Russia, or almost anywhere at all!
