Facilities for the Yale Community

Academic Media and Technology (AM&T) provides a number of computing facilities on campus. Macintosh and Windows computers and laser printers are available for general use by the Yale community at Connecticut Hall, Cross Campus Library, and Dunham Laboratory. In addition, computer rooms are provided in each of the residential colleges. Social science users are encouraged to use the Social Science Statistical Laboratory, or StatLab. Further information about computing facilities is available at the Cluster Support Services Web site.

Instructors should be aware that e-mail accounts and Internet access are available to all full-time undergraduate students. The campus-wide academic network is accessible from all cluster machines, through dormitory-room network connections, and via modem and DSL. The Yale network offers a wide variety of local services as well as access to the resources of the Internet.

Computing assistants and consultants are available at general facilities during posted hours. Each residential college has four computing assistants who can be called on for help in the college's computer rooms.

The Computer Science and Engineering departments operate extensive computer facilities for use by their students and faculty, and several other departments have specialized research and teaching facilities. Instructors are invited to consult with these departments. For information on classrooms equipped with computers, see "Computer Classrooms."
