For times and locations of placement examinations in African languages, call 432-3436 or contact the Director of African Languages, Kiarie Wa'Njogu, 432-0110. Students seeking advice on placement in Greek or Latin should e-mail the DUS, celia.schultz@yale.edu; her office hours will be posted in 202 Phelps Hall. Indonesian and Vietnamese placement examinations will take place in Rm. 311 Luce Hall during the week of September 3 by appointment. Call the Program in Southeast Asia Studies, 436-4192 (Indonesian) or 432-5097 (Vietnamese). For a proficiency or placement examination in Persian, contact the Near Eastern Languages and Civilizations departmental office, 432-2944. Examinations in Slavic languages other than Czech, Polish, Russian, or Serbian and Croatian are by appointment only; call Irina Dolgova, 432-1307, or e-mail irina.dolgova@yale.edu. To arrange for a proficiency or placement examination in a language not among those listed above, see your residential college dean.
* Students taking the Chinese or Japanese placement examination must complete an online component before September 4.
