The Freshman Handbook
The Freshman Handbook is a source of placement information and advice for incoming freshmen. It is prepared in the office of the editor of the YCPS during the winter so that it may be mailed to matriculants in the spring. Photocopies of the department's material in the previous year's Freshman Handbook are sent to DUSes late in the fall term. Corrected and updated copy is due back in the office of the editor in early December.
The Freshman Handbook must go to the printer before departments have all of their updated course information for the following academic year. For this reason, the handbook's text refers to the current year’s course offerings, i.e., the 2010 Freshman Handbook will be based on program and course information from the 2009–2010 academic year. You do not need to have next year's curriculum established in order to update your Freshman Handbook copy.
