- What: Fellowships, also called grants or scholarships, are awards of money given to support a variety of projects. Yale provides students with many fellowship opportunities to fund research, independent projects, internships, volunteer work, community service, and study abroad. Consult the Student Grants Database, a resource for information about funding. Students are encouraged to attend informational meetings organized by the Office of Fellowship Programs (OFP) and the MacMillan Center for International and Area Studies. Students should also discuss funding opportunities with College Deans and Masters, as well as members of academic departments.
