Freshman Seminars Application

Welcome to the online application system for the Freshman Seminar Program. Applications for fall-term and year-long freshman seminars will be accepted through this site until Tuesday, September 1 at 7:30 pm. (Note: applications for spring-term seminars will be accepted at the end of the fall term.) You will be able to select and rank up to five freshman seminars, and you will be able to return to the application site and revise your choices at any time during this three-hour period. The time of your submission during this period will not affect the outcome. At 7:30 pm, the application process will close, and places will be assigned on the basis of a computerized lottery designed to maximize student preferences. Notice of assignments will be available through this site by 10:00 pm on September 1. Please note that the demand for many of the freshman seminars is far greater than the supply of spaces available, and not everyone who applies to the program will be able to enroll in a seminar. Students who have been admitted either to Directed Studies (DS) or Perspectives on Science (PS) will be admitted to a freshman seminar only if space is available. |
