Spanish
The departmental placement examination in Spanish will be given only at the beginning of the fall term. The examination will be administered on Sunday, August 30 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 3.30 to 5.30 p.m. in rooms 101 and 102, Linsly-Chittenden Hall. A makeup examination will be given on Tuesday, September 1, from 9 to 11 a.m in room 101, Linsly- Chittenden Hall. Students who have already taken one or more years of Spanish are required to take the placement examination before enrolling in a Spanish course. All students, including native speakers, who wish to enroll in a Spanish course beyond SPAN 110a or 125a and who scored below 5 on an Advanced Placement test in Spanish, are required to take the placement examination. Students who have not studied Spanish before will automatically be placed into SPAN 110a. An information session will be held on Tuesday, September 1, from 2 to 3 p.m. in room 102, Linsly-Chittenden Hall, for students who intend to begin or continue their study of Spanish. No preregistration is required for Spanish courses or for the placement examination. |
