Freshman Assembly in Woolsey Hall, corner of College and Grove Streets. Addresses by Richard C. Levin, President of Yale University, and Mary Miller, Dean of Yale College. Students and their guests are assigned to one of two services, depending on their residential college affiliation.

Students from the following colleges are scheduled to attend the 9 a.m. assembly: Berkeley, Morse, Davenport, Silliman, Timothy Dwight, and Pierson.

Students from the following colleges are scheduled to attend the 10.30 a.m. assembly: Calhoun, Branford, Saybrook, Ezra Stiles, Trumbull, and Jonathan Edwards.

All freshmen are expected to attend and be in their seats on the main floor of Woolsey by 8.45 a.m. for the 9 a.m. assembly and by 10.15 a.m. for the 10.30 a.m. assembly. Proper attire should be worn. Family members and guests of students are invited to attend and take seats in the rear section of Woolsey Hall, the parquet terraces and the first balcony. Doors to Woolsey will open at 7:30 a.m. for the 9:00 assembly and approximately 10:00 a.m. for the 10:30 assembly.

Additional seating for families and guests to view a simulcast of this event is available at the Law School, in the air-conditioned Levinson Auditorium and Room 122 Sterling Law Building, both located at 127 Wall Street. This event will also be broadcast on Yale Channel 10.

Shabbat Lunch. All students and families are welcome to join for a festive, celebratory, communal meal. The meal follows Orthodox Services at 9 a.m. Slifka Center, 80 Wall Street.

Tour of Sterling Memorial Library for families. An introduction to the library’s history, architecture, and collections. The tour leaves from inside the front door of the Sterling Memorial library on Rose Walk, facing Cross Campus. Tours for freshmen will take place throughout the term. A schedule will be posted on the Library Orientation Web site.

Picnic suppers for freshmen in the residential colleges, with an introduction to the college, its resources, and its facilities. The Morse College picnic will be held in the New Residence Hall (“Swing Space”), 100 Tower Parkway.
