Programs of Study
This section offers concise descriptions of many of Yale's academic departments. Included for each program are a brief overview of the subject, recommendations for freshman year preparation for the major, and policies for placement.
All of the courses listed in this section were offered within the past two years. Most are regularly included in the curriculum. The YCPS, which will be mailed to you in August, provides updated course information.
In some subjects you can earn acceleration credit either while in secondary school or by work done during freshman year. Information about acceleration credit is given on this Web page.
