Peer Liaison 2012-2013

Upon entrance to Yale, all first-year students are assigned a freshman counselor whose main purpose is to serve as a guide and mentor during Freshman Year. In addition to the freshman counselor, a Peer Liaison is assigned to each student of color. The purpose of the Peer Liaison is to provide additional support - addressing the issues and concerns more specific to minority students.

The counselors are open to answer any questions concerning life at Yale. Their principal responsibility is to facilitate the new student’s successful transition into college. They serve as a source of support to ensure each counselee's academic, personal, and social success during the first year in New Haven.
