Welcome to the online application system for the Freshman Seminar Program. Applications for spring-term freshman seminars will be accepted through this site from Friday, December 4, at 12 pm until Wednesday, January 6, at 12 pm. You will be able to select and rank up to three freshman seminars, and you will be able to return to the application site and revise your choices at any time until the deadline. The time of your submission during this period will not affect the outcome. At 12:00 pm on January 6, the application process will close, and places will be assigned on the basis of a computerized lottery designed to maximize student preferences. Students will be notified of assignments by 5 pm on Friday, January 8. Please note that the demand for many of the freshman seminars is far greater than the supply of spaces available, and not everyone who applies to the program will be able to enroll in a seminar. Students who were not admitted to a freshman seminar in the fall term will be given preference in the lottery, but there is no guarantee of admission. Students who were admitted to a fall-term seminar, or who enrolled in either to Directed Studies (DS) or Perspectives on Science (PS), will be admitted to a freshman seminar only if space is available. |
