OFP Yale College Year-long Fellowships

About These Fellowships

OFP Yale College Year-long Fellowships are eight unique fellowships administered by the Office of Fellowship Programs. Students may apply to one or several of these individual competitions depending on the proposed activity and the intent of the fellowship. Applicants use a standardized application form which provides more time to focus on the proposal and less time spent on paperwork. A complete list of these fellowships can be found at the bottom of this page.

Activities Funded by These Fellowships

Each OFP Yale College Year-Long Fellowship supports unique activities which may include research, study, and/or independent projects.

  • Year-long Fellowships are most often awarded to seniors to support a 9-12 month experience after graduation.
  • Freshmen, sophomores and juniors may also be eligible to apply if they are considering taking a leave of absence from Yale.
  • Funding opportunities exist for both domestic and international activities.

To research all Yale-funded fellowship opportunities, including fellowships not administered by OFP, visit the Student Grants Database.

Read the description of each individual fellowship carefully as eligibility and restrictions will vary.

Not all fellowships support all activities. Links to the full description of each of these fellowships on the Student Grants Database are provided in the listings at the bottom of this page.

Eligibility and Restrictions

It is important to read the description of each individual fellowship carefully, as eligibility and restrictions will vary.

If you have one project for which you are applying to multiple OFP Yale College Year-long Fellowships, you need to submit only one set of application materials. You are not required or expected to customize your proposal and application materials for each specific fellowship.

If you are intending to apply to multiple OFP Yale College Year-long Fellowships with unique project proposals for each, you must contact OFP prior to the deadline.

It is prohibited to apply twice to the same fellowship with different proposals.

How To Apply

The deadline for all OFP Yale College Year-long Fellowships is Monday, January 4, 2010 at 11:59 PM. Application materials must be submitted electronically via the Student Grants Database. Application materials will not be accepted via email or in person and late applications will not be accepted under any circumstances.

The first step in applying is to visit the specific Student Grants Database page for each fellowship and determine your eligibility. You must register on the Database for each fellowship to which you intend to apply. Direct links to the Student Grants Database for each fellowship are provided below.

Once you have decided upon and registered for the fellowships to which you intend to apply, visit the OFP Yale College Year-long Fellowships page on the Student Grants Database. From there you will find the specific requirements, application forms, instructions and other useful information for applicants. In addition to registering for each fellowship, you must also register on that page for the OFP Yale College Year-long Fellowships.
