National Fellowships
National fellowships, scholarships, and awards fall into many categories, ranging from support for undergraduate or graduate education, to specific year-long internship programs, to study, research, or projects abroad. Unlike financial aid, most of these highly competitive awards are merit-based; need is not usually a factor. |
A number of these national fellowships require applicants, whether current students or alumni, to apply through their colleges or universities. These competitions are administered at Yale by Fellowship Programs, which guides applicants through the process both at Yale and beyond.
Prospective applicants should read individual fellowship descriptions and application requirements carefully, as these may vary considerably.
