The Undergraduate Organizations Funding Committee

When Can You Apply for Funds, Rent Equipment?

The UOFC website and online application system are currently under maintenance. As indicated in the calendar below, the online application should be ready for use on Monday, September 22nd. The Capital Equipment Program will resume operations, with new procedures, on September 29th (tentative).

Join the Board of the Undergraduate Organizations Funding Committee (UOFC)

The UOFC serves as the main source of funding for the majority of registered organizations on campus, awards large amounts of money to facilitate campus-wide events, and rents capital equipment (speakers, projectors, lighting, etc.) to groups for free. As liaisons, you will have the opportunity to:

• interact with and advise Yale’s diverse student organizations

• influence funding decisions pertaining to those organizations

• gain valuable experience in the fields of finance and committee work

• facilitate communication between student organizations and both the Dean’s Office and the YCC

Application to join the UOFC

Every year, the UOFC looks for a diverse pool of applicants with a wide range of interests and experiences that reflect the make-up of the entire student body. We encourage all interested students to apply; at least 10 members will be selected for this academic year. Applications are also being accepted for special roles within the committee, including Secretary, Capital Equipment Program Director, Special Events Director, and Webmaster. All applications must be submitted to the Yale College Dean’s Office at SSS 110 by noon on Wednesday, September 17, 2008. See application for more details.

The current UOFC Chair, Bryan Twarek, will be available to answer any questions or provide more information at the Bass Library Café between the hours of 8pm and 10pm on Tuesday, September 16, 2008. Questions can also be directed to him by e-mail, at bryan.twarek@yale.edu. Thank you for your interest in the UOFC!
