Research & Independent Activities

The possibilities for international research are extensive for Yale undergraduates. Many Yale students spend the summer following their junior year abroad doing research for a senior essay or thesis; projects also include directed research, independent study, and laboratory work. Students are encouraged to work with their Residential College Dean, Academic Advisers, and members of relevant departments to define their project and its parameters. For information and guidance regarding funding for research abroad, contact advisers in the MacMillan Center as well as the Office of Fellowship Programs.
