“Webster defines a Ôfanfare’ as a Ôflourish of trumpets.’ When I decided to write a piece of music to celebrate the coming of the new millenium, the choice was easy. It had to be a fanfareÑshort and to the point. What better way to celebrate than with trumpets and horns and trombones and tuba and drums! And so, Fanfare 2000 was written for brass and percussion, the instrumentation I chose to produce the sound I wanted as the most fitting for this once-in-a-thousand-year celebration.” ÑDagobert Pfeiffer
