When: Thursday, October 20, 2010
Where: The African American Cultural Center at Yale
The Yale University African American Affinity Group (YAAA) Reach Out program seeks to support youth and their families through the process of making important educational and career choices by providing them with information about various career fields at Yale, Yale’s campus life, and the admissions process. We also serve as a resource to answer questions via panel discussions and presentations. The effort is intended to expose high school students to various education and career options to enable them to make informed decisions thus maximize their potential. Two sessions are held each year in the fall and the spring. In the fall a diverse panel of presenters from academic departments at the University discuss admissions, financial aid, choosing majors, choosing a college, and other topics related to the education journey. In the spring, a second panel of presenters from various departments within the University will share information related to their career path and what brought them to Yale University.
