A Conclusion to 2007 and a revival of the website:
April, 2007: The
past 3 years were incredibly successful for the Yale Team.
With a large recruiting class from 2004, The team was
propelled to 3rd place finish in 2005 and a 4th place finish
in 2006 with 2 wrestlers receiving All American
status.
As the 2007 season concludes, we march into 2008 with a
new focus on creating a team that will be competitive with a
tough 28 team Northeast Conference. A team that prides
itself on tradition, wrestling at Yale has been and always
be a great sport.
A New Year With New Goals:
November 9th, 2004: Yale Wrestling has begun its 2004-2005 season, again under the coaching of Brian Reardon and the leadership of captains Scott Klebanoff (MC '07) and Chris Connelly (TC '06). Check back soon for updates regarding this year's roster and schedule.
Yale Wrestling Welcomes New Coach
2003-2004:
Yale Wrestling welcomes Coach Brian Reardon to
the squad! Regarded by his peers as one of the most progressive
coaches in the country, Head Coach of Yale University, Coach
of the USA Spartan Wrestling Club.(Spartan-North Meriden,
CT; Spartan South-Montclair, NJ), Coach reardon has produced
All-Americans year after year at almost every age group
level. His accomplishments include, but are not limited
to: 1994 Assistant Coach of the USA Cadet Greco-Roman World
Team, (which included Cael Sanderson and Mike Zaddick),
Head Coach of the Connecticut Junior Olympic and Cadet National
Teams, and 1994 Connecticut Wrestling Man-of-the-Year. As
a Silver Certified USA Coach, he holds positions on the
USAW-CT board, the NWCA (the National Wrestling Coaches
Association), as well as the MWA (Metropolitan Wrestling
Association).
First Home Meet in Over a Decade
February
8th, 2004: This
February, Yale's wrestlers hosted Bergen Community College
marking the first home meet for Yale's wrestling program
in over 10 years. Yale lost to Bergen - the fourth-ranked
junior college team in the nation - but realizes the importance
of bringing wrestling back to Yale.
