Prior to taking up his current position with the CRT Foundation, Massimo Lapucci was Investment Director for Sintonia S.A. (Benetton Group), a holding company based in Luxembourg focused on infrastructure assets, including the Italian motorways company, airports and telecommunications. He has been a member of the boards of several major companies, including Autostrade per l`Italia and others in Europe and South America. Lapucci teaches an introductory course on business economics at LUISS University (Rome). Previously, as senior vice president for strategic planning, research and mergers & acquisitions for Ferrovie dello Stato, a holding company which includes the Italian railway system and has nearly 100,000 employees across Europe, Lapucci was responsible for analysis, forecasts, and transportation models to identify potential targets for development, as well as directly managing transactions and negotiations.
